An informal, unsponsored symposium on Advances of Theoretical Spectroscopy at the University of Washington, Seattle, in Celebration of the 70th Birthday of John J. Rehr.

As a sequel to the 27th Annual Workshop on the Recent Developments in the Electronic Structure (ES2015) from Sunday June 21, 2015 to Wednesday morning June 24, 2015, we take the opportunity to celebrate John Rehr's 70th birthday on Wednesday afternoon June 24 (may extend to Thursday morning June 25, 2015), in order to acknowledge the progress in excited state electronic structure and theoretical x-ray spectroscopy. We envision a broad scope of the speakers that will cover these topics in an informal setting allowing significant time for discussions.
